New Wooden Magnets

We just received new wooden laser cut magnets from Woodcutts in Colorado. They are Northwest animals and have Whitefish, Montana engraved at the bottom. When you need a small gift for friends when you get back from your trip to Montana, these will be perfect. Or if you need a cool magnet for your own refrigerator, just stop in and take a look.

New Leather Bags from Erda

We just received these really cute "Cowgirl Pouches" from Erda Leather. It's a cute little bag that you can wear around your waist or use as a shoulder bag. It has a flat outside back pocket. The flap, which is just the little piece of "burn-out" calf on top for easy access, hides a zip top. The bag measures 7" high by 8" wide by 1/2" deep . It's shown here in their blue combo but we have them in neutrals.

Mitrecraft Key Racks

If you love the Mitrecraft book marks, you'll want to check out these new key racks. Made with some of the same designs, the key rack features seven handy hooks to help organize keys, jewelry and lot more. Each key rack comes with easy to mount self adhesive squares. These will make a great housewarming gift but you probably won't be able to resist getting one for you as well.

Don't these hats and scarves look scrumptious? Each one is hand crafted by Sherry Jones, from Polson, MT. The scarves are crocheted with a variety of wonderful yarns and the hats are made from fleece with velvet or velveteen accents. The flowers can be removed from the hat for washing and could even be worn as a pin. Looking for that perfect accessory for winter?

Chrystal Higgins - October - The Purple Pomegranate

The Purple Pomegranate, a fine craft specialty store, is featuring work by Whitefish basket maker, Chrystal Higgins during the month of October. Chrystal took her first basket weaving class in 1997, instantly became hooked, and started teaching others how to weave in 1999. Chrystal specializes in unique gourd and contemporary baskets, as well as antler baskets, a great deal of which is special order consignment baskets. Always striving to expand her knowledge, she constantly experiments with new materials and techniques, in a multitude of basket forms.

Chrystal's original basket designs have been awarded numerous Best of Show awards, as well as winning several local, state and national awards. Partly because she always sneaks in lots of tips and techniques during class time and strives to make basket making a fun and stress-free time for all of her students, Chrystal has been given the nickname of "Montana Wild Woman" by her basket-weaving buddies and students.

Meet Chrystal during Whitefish Gallery Night, Thursday, October 6th, 2011 from 6-9 PM. Chrystal’s work will be displayed during the opening and throughout the month of October.
